I am so excited I was able to have a chat with Ozarks Indie Book Fest 2017 attending author, Elise Faber! See the brief interview below to get to know a little more about this amazing author!

Please tell us a little about yourself 🙂
I’m a huge Star Wars and Dancing with the Stars fan (though fingers crossed this season gets better!) and I love chocolate . . . like really, really love it! I live in sunny California but play ice hockey for fun. Quilting is my secret passion and I love writing books with a happily ever after. Because in this day and age, we could all use a few more HEAs! Aside from that, I have two boys—4 and 6—who keep me hopping and my hubby is awesome!
Will this be your first time at Ozarks Indie Book Fest?
Yes! I’ll be a newbie, but I’m looking forward to it!
You write in a few different genres, do you have a favorite?
Lately, I’m really loving writing lighter contemporary books. Stuff that’s snarky and spicy,
but with a funny heroine.
Is there a genre you haven’t tried yet but would like to one day?
Historical romance. I love reading it, though I haven’t gotten around to writing it. The
research seems daunting!
We love the new Phoenix series covers! What gave you the idea to change them?
I wanted something that really fit in with the whole theme of the series a little more—that
beauty and light can overcome dark, if only given the chance.
In Blocked Brit makes it to the NHL…Hockey is actually a big part of your life, was this
something that was a personal dream of yours?
I’ve never been a good enough player to have that dream, lol! I can hang with some
pretty skilled men and play in the highest level in my women’s league, but the men (and women nowadays with the NWHL!) are incredible athletes.
Are you working on anything now? If so, could you tell us a little bit about it?
My latest novel is Disaster at Roosevelt Ranch and will be coming out December 13 th .
It’s a small town contemporary romance about a girl who loves horses and becomes involved with wealthy twins, so there will be plenty of steam and drama and maybe an accidental pregnancy. 😉 Other than that I’m working on a novella to be released early next year, the next Gold hockey book, and another contemporary romance about an exceptionally klutzy heroine (not that she’s based on me or anything!)
Do you have any authors in particular that inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was four years old and first started chicken-scratching
my letters! I love creating worlds and characters that I—and my readers—can get lost in!
Fave Five:
Favorite book: Pride and Prejudice
Favorite food: Chocolate! (okay if I have to pick a real food, then pizza!)
Favorite hockey player: Joe Pavelski from the Sharks
– Favorite movie: Pride and Prejudice (but the Keira Knightley version . . . sensing a
theme here? 😉 )
– Favorite music artist/band: I don’t have one. I will listen to pretty much anything from the Beatles and the Eagles to Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes to Spoon and Vance Joy! If it
has a decent beat, I’m there!

    1. Thanks! I am really excited about OIBF and I think it’s great to have so many faucets of it and the attendees featured in advance as well. It gives people plenty of time to get excited and start planning out everything they’d like to do or see at the event. I hope to see you there next year!
